We’re Four!

June 20, 2014

Happy anniversary to us! Four years ago today I married my favorite guy on the planet and now we have a little family! It’s amazing how fast time flies by! So cliché but so true. It’s like I blinked and we went from meeting on the first day of college to being parents! This post has become a tradition on the blog, so like I did last year and the year before, I’d like to share my thoughts on our fourth year of marriage. Would you like to hear?

Wow, our fourth year was our biggest adventure yet! We discovered we were pregnant shortly after our third anniversary and soon after that, we decided to move clear across the country to Richmond! To be honest, the last year has been a blur to me. SO.MANY.CHANGES! Saying goodbye to my hometown, to my job, to my friends and to my family was harder than I imagined. And doing it all while experiencing pregnancy for the first time made it even harder. But having Evan by my side made the transition easier to cope with. So from our fourth year of marriage I learned to be fearless and that together we can do anything. We took chances, we ventured beyond our comfort zones, we created a little human!!! …and we survived it all. Together.

1. Kissing, hugging and showing affection never gets old. Do it! Kiss him on the cheek, on the lips, on the neck! Hold hands, be cuddly. Never hesitate. {THIS WILL ALWAYS HOLD TRUE!}

2. Go for it! Life is so short and we never want to say “we should have…”.  Moving to a new city for a new job with a new baby on the way and not knowing anyone on top of everything made us realize how safe we had been living in our old life. There is so much world to see and so much to experience out there. We never want to play it safe again. We’ve decided to always say yes and figure out the rest later.

3. Having a baby is a good thing (if you’re ready). I’m happy we waited a few years to have Cielo. It gave us time to grow as a couple, work a few kinks out, establish our finances, travel, consume many alcoholic beverages frivolously and truly decide we were ready to care for a new life. I’ve never felt more united with Evan than when we’re together with our daughter. She made us a family and we’re so happy to be her parents.

4. Together we can do so much. Togetherness was definitely our theme for the year. With so many major changes going on, each others support was truly a necessity. I realized how important it is to always find a way to work with one another instead of against, no matter how big or small the situation.

And now, on to my favorite part of my anniversary posts….our wedding pictures. More is always more on this festive occasion.

      Thanks Joy! I’m not Italian, I’m Honduran but I think the spanish language overlaps with Italian often :)
